Tom joined the band as a regular member in 2016, after acting as a substitute for many years. Tom holds a Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance from San Jose State University.

Tom has been performing and teaching in the San Francisco Bay Area and worldwide for over 35 years. A partial list of credits include many Broadway Shows at the Orpheum, Golden Gate, Curran Theaters and Davies Symphony Hall; including South Pacific with Robert Goulet, The Producers with Jason Alexander and Martin Short, Peter Pan with Cathy Rigby, Mambo Kings with David Allen Grier, Annie with John Schuck and Makenzie Phillips, Chorus Line redux with Marvin Hamlish and Jonathan Tunik including recording on the Grammy nominated soundtrack on Sony Records, Jersey Boys, Color Purple, White Christmas, Wicked with Teal Wicks and Patty Duke (20 months and over 650 shows), Hugh Jackman (featured soloist) Bernadette Peters, Enchantingly Wicked featuring Stephen Schwartz, and Matilda.

He’s worked with several recording Artists including The Who, The Temptations, Four Tops, O’Jays, Mary Wilson(Original member of the Supremes), The Dells, The Emotions, Heatwave, Blue Magic, The Manhattans, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Percy Sledge, Billy Paul, Peaches & Herb, Denise Williams, Martha Reeves, The Stylistics, Dionne Warwick, Vikki Carr, Ed Ames, Bob Newhart, Bill Cosby, Dana Carvey, Tito Puente, Malo, Jorge Santana, Cold Blood w/Lydia Pense, Cali Aleman, Luisito Carrion, Lalo Rodriguez, Rey Sepulveda, Cesar’s Latin All Stars, Jon Faddis, Richie Cole, Jamie Davis, Claire Dee, Jackie Ryan, Taylor Eigsti, Wayne Bergeron, Carl Allen, Andy Narrell, Momotumbo SF, Puro Bandito, and the San Francisco 49ers Band.

He’s had a career in private Instruction from 1983-88 at Music Village in San Jose, 1999-present at Hornucopia in San Carlos, and 2009 – present at his own studio in San Carlos and currently online.

Tom also has classroom instruction experience from 2014-present, Jazz Ensemble at Ralston Middle School in Belmont CA, 2000-present brass coach at Ralston Middle School, Carlmont HS, School of the Arts in SF, Martin Luther King Middle School in SF, Lowell HS, Hillsdale HS, Tierra Linda Middle School, Davidson Middle School, College of San Mateo.
