Ryan studied trombone performance at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University under Dr. Denson Paul Pollard and Dr. Brittany Lasch. He has played with Wayne Wallace Latin Jazz Ensemble, IU Philharmonic Orchestra, Conductors Orchestra, and Trombone Choir. He joined the band in 2023.
