Kris Palmer, Piccolo & Flute – Golden Gate Park Band

Kris is a Second Prize winner in the National Flute Association’s Young Artist Competition, a Carnegie Hall Recital Debut winner with Artists International, a First Prize winner in the Carmel Chamber Music Society Competition, and a recording artist with two album releases. Kris is the founder and director of the Black Cedar Trio, winners of four grants from the Zellerbach Foundation and InterMusic SF. Kris performs regularly with Opera San Jose, Lamplighters Musical Theatre, Monterey Symphony, and Santa Cruz Symphony. She is the conductor for the San Jose Youth Symphony flute choirs, and she has served as a member of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra and Principal Flutist with the Chamber Orchestra of Albuquerque. Kris earned a Doctorate of Musical Arts from Rice University.
