Franklin Beauregard “Beau” Davis
Cornet, Trumpet
Franklin is a San Francisco native and graduate of Lowell High. He holds degrees in music from San Francisco State University. He plays and teaches all the brass instruments.
He serves as co-principal trumpet in Redwood Symphony and program annotator for both Redwood Symphony and Symphony Parnassus. Frank has performed with San Francisco Opera, Children’s Opera, Pocket Opera, Oakland Ballet and Marin, Berkeley, Diablo, Vallejo and Napa Symphonies.
Franklin plays lead trumpet in Don Neely’s Royal Society Jazz Orchestra and traditional Jazz with Silicon Gulch Jazz Band. He also leads and arranges charts for The Matterhorns and the horn section of The E-Ticket Classic Rock Band. Franklin leads his own groups too, including Gabriel’s Herald Trumpets, The Toppman Trio (Vintage Jazz), The Brassworks Quintet, and the Brassworks Band, featured for many years at San Francisco’s Dickens Fair. since 1980, Brassworks has played all Ye Gaskells Victorian Balls, as well as the Stanford Viennese Ball, National Civil war association Grand Ball, PEERS Balls, and other vintage dance events.
