Curtis Azevedo
Trombone
Curtis Azevedo has cultivated a dynamic and versatile career as a trombonist. He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Trombone Performance from San José State University in 2017 and 2021, studying under renowned Bay Area trombonist Tom Hornig. His artistry has also been shaped by mentorship from distinguished musicians including Mike Hoffman, Henry Henniger, and Tim Conner.
Equally at home on stage and in the pit, Curtis has performed with leading ensembles such as the Berkeley, Monterey, and Stanford Symphonies, as well as with respected theater companies including West Bay Opera and Livermore Valley Opera. In addition to his proficiency on tenor and bass trombone, Curtis brings versatility as a self-taught timpanist and percussionist, contributing to ensembles such as the San Jose Wind Symphony, San Ramon Symphonic Band, and Ohlone Wind Orchestra.
When not performing across the Bay Area, Curtis enjoys curating his growing vinyl collection and exploring classic cinema. He became a member of GGPB in 2023.
